Mat Sinner and Bernhard Wünsch invite again to ROCK MEETS CLASSIC and rely on Saga, Supertramp, Status Quo and Gotthard in XXL-Format

For the eleventh time it's "Rock meets Classic". Since 2010, bassist Mat Sinner has been the musical director and boss of the rock band, which, together with a large orchestra under the direction of Bernhard Wünsch, invites rock celebrities to celebrate their rock classics on a grand scale. This year's guest list includes Francis Rossi of Status Quo, Sagas Michael Sadler, Leo Leoni and Nic Maeder of Gotthard, Eric Bazilian of the Hooters and the Supertramp duo John Helliwell and Jesse Siebenberg. eclipsed spoke with Sinner and Sadler about the new edition.

eclipsed: One could think that after eleven tours the routine takes over - in the best sense of the word - the command at "Rock meets Classic". Is that right?

Mat Sinner: Routine is the wrong word. But after a few tours you have gained a lot of experience with this format, so that you approach the thing more concentrated and calmer. Also because we have the self-confidence that our concept works and meets with great viewer interest.

eclipsed: RMC has a main focus in South Germany. Is it because that's where most of the viewers come from?

Sinner: There's something to that. In the south, our show is an established event, to which on average between two and three thousand people always come. But sometimes it's because we skip certain areas, like 2018 NRW, that certain halls weren't available at the time we do the tour. But Halle in Westphalia always runs very well, so we will definitely have it on our tour schedule again in the coming years. But we try new locations every time to see if RMC is accepted there. Maybe we'll go to Gelsenkirchen once in a while.

eclipsed: Says the Schalke fan. Okay, what and who are you looking forward to especially this year?

Sinner: For the first time we are putting together our own orchestra. The young musicians come from the Czech Republic, Poland and Germany.
