To take psychedelic, progressive and experimental rock culture to the next level, The Rising Sun Experience have taken up the cause for their second album "Beyond The Oblivious Abyss". A goal that is likely to be accepted everywhere. But also a goal to which countless bands devote their undivided attention. One becomes immediately aware in the first seconds: The groove is so fulminant, the riffing so stirring, the vocals so exciting. With the opener "Countries Off..." the Portuguese set the bar quite high. Some really hard sequences drift off into Black Sabbath realms. But The Rising Sun Experience know where the journey is heading: analog keyboard passages, mostly from the organ, relaxed percussion, an epic art rock guitar solo - all in the nine-minute "Sailing On The Corner Of Dante's Eye". Finally, there is the highlight: the five-part 15-minute suite "Wasted Dreams Of Red Flowers", which alternates between dreamy moments, lively grooves and abstract sound worlds. Target reached.
