Consistency and continuity ensure that even after 25 years the Bochum guitarist still hits the nerve of the value-conservative grand piano of the hard rock faction. About every one and a half years he publishes a new work. This is followed by a tour in which 800 spectator clubs are always as good as sold out. "Into The Storm" will be part of this success story as well as the concert tour beginning in February. The drummer change from Mike Terrana to the ex-Rainbow-/ Black-Sabbath drummer Bobby Rondinelli has less effect than expected. The riff-heavy tracks of "Into The Storm" are reminiscent of the first MSG albums. This is refreshing, in contrast to the Neil Young song "Hey Hey My My", which is presented as a dripping piano ballad. Pell had the courage here to make a strange song his own, but he robs him of all his magic and strength in this version. More successful is "Way To Mandalay", a Blackmore's Night cover, which is missing on the standard CD. In contrast, ARP is completely in his element on the epic ten-minute title track.
