The Scottish singing elf Maggie Reilly hasn't been heard from for a long time. She had become famous through Mike Oldfield's eighties hits such as "Moonlight Shadow" and "To France", which she once refined with her distinctive voice. Her solo albums since the nineties have received little attention in this country. As she will be touring Germany in March of this year, one can only wish her more luck with her new work. It starts with "Stars At Night", an all-too pop version of Celtic music that could also have come from the Corrs. The title song is smoother disco between Donna Summer, Lisa Stansfield and Marianne Rosenberg. Even the old-fashioned single "Juliette" doesn't sound like it was in 2013. Here the eighties and nineties Roxette were mixed together. So it's clear where good Reilly is going: finally back to the charts. Thank God there are a lot of other songs afterwards: "Cold The Snow Clad Mountain" docks at Clannad, "Where The Heart Lies" at Runrig, "Léanan Sídhe" finally at Mike and Sally Oldfield and "Break Of Day" even at Nightwish. Swarthy.
