Attention, not for people who can't play the violin. The Hardanger-Fiddle version of this instrument sounds almost pure here. Erlend Apneseth, a 23-year-old Norwegian, has won prizes with this instrument in many competitions in his home country and is one of the elite fiddlers there. With the money he won at the renowned "Grappa's New Artist Prize", he realized a dream and recorded this album. He plays the traditional and the self-invented, mainly solo, here and there you can hear some rhythm stomping. Sometimes his instrument sounds cheerful, seems to evoke Norwegian spring landscapes, then again meditative. Fahrt records the piece "Purka sat fast i grindi" thanks to drums, while "Sommarflukt" shows the more experimental side of the violinist and lets you hear how he sounds accompanied by other musicians who contribute guitar, drums and electronic elements.
