In their ten new songs Fanfarlo reflect on human evolution. But on "Let's Go Extinct" that's not in the foreground, because these ten songs are lovingly arranged, shine with ever new details and above all: All songs are optimistic, abound with open melodies, sound in major, drive away the bad mood and yet are by no means superficial. You might remember Crowded House or Mercury Rev. Okay, the all outstanding melodies, like Menomena for example, don't occur to the London band around the Swedish singer Simon Balthazar on their third album. But it doesn't matter. Rhythm guitars, funny percussion interludes, dreamy keyboards, various brass inserts, even a few strings and polyphonic vocal passages (mostly in the choruses) are fun. It's that simple. Let's Go Extinct" offers more than three-quarters of an hour change from the small and big worries of everyday life. If there's one message here, it's this one: Life can be good.
