NOTHING - Guilty Of Everything

Kategorie: CD-Reviews | Genre: Shoegaze | Heft: Jahrgang 2014, eclipsed Nr. 158 / 3-2014 | VÖ-Jahr: 2014 | Wertung: 8/10 | Label: Relapse | Autor: CA

With Relapse Records you usually know what to expect: Metal on the verge of self-mutilation and with an ear-blood guarantee. All the more surprising now comes Nothing from there, a band that started in 2011 as Ultrahardcorebrutalo group, but now releases their debut "Guilty Of Everything", which is soothing in Dreampop and Shoegazing. "Hymn To The Pillory" is as dreamlike as pieces by Slowdive, but it raises into a Wall Of Sounds, which thanks to self-forgotten vocals, swings up into even higher spheres. "Bent Nail" brings us back to the floor of noisepop with The-Jesus-&-Mary-Chain attitude. "Endlessly" is not end-, but it is boundless when it comes to dreamy sounds and moods. And they come big and sprawling with "Somersault" and "Beat Around The Bush". It may not necessarily be just the sensational comeback of My Bloody Valentine that Shoegaze and Noisepop are back in everyone's ears, Nothing is definitely another argument.
