The subtitle of the album says it all: "A Collection Of Rare B-Sides 2001-2013". The Danish psychrockers Baby Woodrose have released a series of vinyl singles over the course of their 13-year career. Singer and guitarist Lorenzo Woodrose has a very special weakness for B-sides, which in his opinion lead a shadowy existence completely wrongly. Accordingly, he has put little song pearls on his B-sides, which are now all gathered here on "Kicking Ass & Taking Names". None of the 14 tracks (eleven of them between two and three minutes long) made it onto a regular album, but they have what it takes. So this release can be regarded as a fully-fledged album, which is in no way inferior to the quality of the other BW albums. It's amazing how easily Baby Woodrose can get out one wonderful hookline after the other, how the grooves carry away again and again, how the dirty, cheeky, snotty beat puts the icing on the cake. Fortunately, this collection exists. Otherwise the songs would have been forgotten.
