"Fire", "Eagle owl", "Bomb", "Gurdy" - Bulbul is not a band of big words. Their music is big enough to stand out. Bulbul don't promise anything they can't keep - "Hirn Fein Hacken" - if it's nothing further. The musicians, who listen to the extravagant names spaceship Engelmayr, Derhunt and Didi Kern, navel themselves away from classical rock schemata and give the noisy many readers. Bulbul music can be interpreted differently, but never misinterpreted. It's not too bad to deliver classical dialect with "I hea eh schon lång nix mea" and to pack it into a sound that carries the pressure of Primus. That's a nice kind of folksy thing to say. "Kanzla" is brain hacking in nine minutes. This purely instrumental ecstasy is blown into delirium with powerful basses and jingling guitars - Big Black was yesterday. "Fisole" has the urge for a straitjacket, "Quicksand" the talent to point to things that are actually only diffuse. Or is the "You Really Got Me" reminiscence just imagined?
