Two years ago, multi-instrumentalist Hansi Fuchs made his debut with his album "Leaving Home". His prog sometimes sounded a bit stiff, so "The Unity Of Two" now offers elegant to perfectly formed pieces. The singing and thus also the music have gained in urgency. That's because next to the convincing singer Baggi Buchmann, who had already been heard on the first album, Michael Wasilewski is now on the mic. Fuchs did well to give up the lead singer position. Wasilewski often sounds like Fish, which fits wonderfully to the pieces offered here, which, highly melodic and almost poetic, remind us of the early Genesis: guitar peggios, singing synths and beguiling harmony singing make us think of "Musical Box" and other concert highlights of the group then led by Peter Gabriel. The spectrum ranges from prog to folky art rock ("Your Best Maybe"). But sometimes you miss the rocky outbursts. "I'm On My Knees" has similarities to Steven Wilson's song "The Raven..." and in the concluding "When You Close Your Eyes" not only the fine guitar solo reminds of Pink Floyd's "High Hopes". Considerable development. Top Track: When You Close Your Eyes
