After "Ninth" comes "Lion". This is what Godfather Of Goth becomes on his new album: he mutates into a predator, because with his tenth work the former Bauhaus front man gives himself completely uncompromisingly, even indulges in industrial music. Maybe Killing Jokes Youth, who produced here, emphasized this aspect a bit, because you have to expect a Peter Murphy to leave nothing to chance. Already "Hang Up", the merciless opener, is a relentless revelation for the darkest kind of Goth Rock. Here you realize again that the singer sometimes already gives the better David Bowie. The guitars are booming and the EBM beats in songs like "Low Tar Stars" let the gothic Eighties rise again. This is a neon flickering dancefloor of the noble kind. "Holy Clown", on the other hand, is not as funny as it seems, but a rock song that has almost become established. And with the majestic title song he once again puts his title into perspective, to which he already has a claim.
