Only rarely do you hear a band play so many different styles so authentically in such a short time as Reverend Shine Snake Oil Co. do on their new EP (or is it already an album with 30 minutes playing time?) "Anti-Solipsism Pt.1 Creatures". Maybe it's because here two guys from the USA somehow ended up in Copenhagen, where they are now mixing up the club scene together with two Danes as RSSOC. Blues is the foundation on which the quartet bases its five songs. And that's original roots blues, sometimes only minimal (in the outstanding "Hey Now"), sometimes really dirty (in "The Candidate"). Very quickly RSSOC advance into polyphonic gospel ("Mrs. Brown), including harmonica. Eastern- or also Western Folk sounds in "The Truth". The almost eleven-minute "Home" is an acoustic, hypnotic, musical trip through swamps, clubs, forests and churches. Live the band must be a sensation. At the end of the year part two of "Anti-Solipsism" will appear. Both then together on CD. The parts on vinyl.
