You sound like an American college band, if it wasn't for that weird accent. It's because Sam McTrusty and Co. are from Glasgow. From there they set out to conquer the halls, if not the stadiums of the world. In the UK they have already shared the stage with Bruce Springsteen and the Foo Fighters. This suggests that the career curve of the quartet should and will go steeply upwards. The album gives an idea that the Glaswegians are developing an enormous energy live. You can also hear a hint of punk past, especially in McTrustys defiant and shrill singing. Otherwise, the record is produced for the mainstream market, corners and edges were mainly sanded and it may be powerfully larded and sobbed ("Oceans"). Better than ballads can the Scots snotty cheeky with a good portion of irony. "Fall Into The Party", good mood rock in Wheatus style ("Teenage Dirtbag"), comes across credibly; you believe the boys that they would mix up a simple party with pleasure.
