Techno DJ goes rock. For his new incarnation Dominic Gentry bought the label Attaque, activated several guitars and now played his debut with "On Ly Ou", for which he spent a whole year. The carefully used range can be heard on the album as well: With the ten tracks contained here, everything is just right. The symbiosis of electro and rock, which has already picked up speed with acts like Moderat, Atoms For Peace or Bobobo, is currently the good conscience of pop. This is where Gentry picks up, this is where he's at. "On Ly Ou" comes with Pantha De Prince sound ("Distant"), Slowdive Shoegaze ("Change Your Mind") and Prodigy Bigbeats ("War Path"), revealing an extreme stylistic diversity. Two tracks are highlighted here. In its almost sacred opulence, "You Can't Surrender If You're Already Dead" is unsurpassed. And "I Give It Away" combines sparkling guitars with dry beats. From every corner it flirts and whispers on "On Ly Ou". All in all, the work is brushed on Schönklang in all its facets.
