For his 30th anniversary as a solo artist, the Scottish-born artist is making even more noise than usual and giving himself and his fans new recordings. Their own favourites and fan favourites from the three decades have found their way onto the album, interpreted by friends, musicians, bands and relatives such as daughter Mahalia and son David Champbell. The musicians - among others Keith Urban, Steven Van Zandt, Tina Arena and Joe Bonamassa are on the guest list - set the tone, first played the instrumental parts, and then Barnes sang for reinterpretation, alone or in duet. Throughout, the songs get a special kick, a special energy, crowned by Barnes nasty grater's voice, very close to the elemental force that the man with his comrades-in-arms brings live over his audience. For example, he rocks "I'd Die To Be With You Tonight" with his brother-in-law Diesel in Rolling Stones style, gives himself up to the blues with Joe Bonamassa and Tina Arena ("Stone Cold") and reveals his hard side ("Love And Hate") together with the alternative rockers Shihad.
