"Phosphorescent Dreams" is published just in time for the 40th anniversary of the Kammerprog legend Univers Zéro. Since band leader Daniel Denis thought he could recognize stagnation after the excellent predecessor CD "Clivages" (2010), he was once again forced to change his line-up on "Phosphorescent Dreams": Antoine Genet (keys) and Nicolas Dechêne (g) now bring a breath of fresh air into the unique musical universe of the Belgians. The gloom of the UZ early works gave way to a certain looseness years ago, which is also reflected in "Phosphorescent Dreams". In the midst of the filigree arrangements, the guitar also gets more room than before, so that Nicolas Dechêne can bring in not only subtle clean, but also rough distortion sounds. On top of that Kurt Budé (cl, sax) profiles himself as the most important source of ideas besides Daniel Denis, so that "Phosphorescent Dreams" is considered to be one of the strongest UZ albums of the last 15 years. Currently this CD is only available as a high-quality import to Japan or via the "Freak Show" organizer Charly Heidenreich (freakcha@aol.com ).
