When the Norwegian violinist Nils Ökland meets the guitarist and drummer of Low Frequency In Stereo, only great things can happen. Ökland is a virtuoso on the violin, washed down with all the waters of classical, new music, folk and jazz, who merges the seventies and nineties of avant-garde jazz and spacer rock with contemporary meta music. It may sound like a cliché, but this CD could really only be made in Norway. The grooves and sound carpets of guitar and drums are driving and hypnotic and Öklands improvisations seem absolutely not of this world. The forces of nature and psychological insanity are breaking their ground here. Even folkloristic themes cumulate in progressive clouds. Unbelievable that such an instrumental density can actually be achieved with only three musicians. You can always let yourself fall into this art of sound full of trust and with the greatest pleasure. One will always discover something new in her or penetrate one sphere deeper into her.
