The Estonian classically trained guitarist Oleg Pissarenko cultivates his very own field between instrumental jazz and ambient. On his new record he looks at the world from the point of view of a child. In the best sense, this is a form of naive world discovery before society and the state deform it. A mixture of electronic clock ticking and piano draws you into this cosmos. Then follow minimalist guitar lines until, when the band starts, Baltic melancholy combines with post-rock attitude. This is music like sitting in a beach chair at the Baltic Sea and looking out to the sea; a view out to the horizon that makes you free. The percussive playing of versatile percussion and often powerful double bass is reminiscent of ECM artists such as Terje Rypdal or Pat Metheny. The guitar remains completely in the acoustic cosmos, the keyboards enrich spherical or reverberated surfaces. "Nad Elavad" sounds more rhythmic and rocky. In fact, there is also a lot of childish curiosity in the expressive game, especially in the playful title track.
