AA BONDY - Believers

Kategorie: CD-Reviews | Genre: Singer-Songwriter | Heft: Jahrgang 2012, eclipsed Nr. 137 / 2-2012 | VÖ-Jahr: 2012 | Wertung: 7/10 | Label: Turnstile | Autor: SaS

AA Bondy, one of those slightly mysterious new Americana hopes, combines traditional styles with atmospheric passages to create strange but fascinating sounds. For Bondy, a song is more than a combination of melody and lyrics. He tries to decorate and enrich it without ever leaving the aesthetic inventory of a singer-songwriter. Maybe that's why he's getting so much praise everywhere. Because his songs sneak into the ear canal rather slowly. Maybe that's why they tend to put the album aside for now, too unobtrusive are Bondy's compositions. But "Believers" grows with every listening session, because you quickly realize that a lot of attention to detail has been paid to the work here, that an artist attaches great importance to a harmonious overall picture. Even if you sometimes long a little for one or the other song to grab you immediately.
