Please do not confuse Moss from Holland with the Doom Chapel of the same name from Southhampton. While they are responsible for twenty-minute soundex courses, their colleagues from the mainland offer manageable indie pop with a penchant for art rock. It reminds me every now and then of Radiohead in sound and habitus. Exemplary for this is the multi-layered, trippy "Tiny Love". With grinding beats, subtle sounds and Thom-Yorke vocals, Moss create an atmosphere that is characteristic of the entire album. Nothing seems to disturb the idyll, everything on "Ornaments" is brushed to harmony. "The Hunter" and "What You Want" come with a stirring groove, but it remains unobtrusive enough to fit into the concept of the album, the third by the way. But then there's the title track, nine minutes long and a lot of space towards the end, as if one wanted to get closer to the English namesakes after all.
