For those of you who don't know: Prime numbers can only be divided by one and themselves. Mike Patton gives this information to the listener as a precaution on the cover of his new album. Therefore, it is surprising even for a short moment that only tracks 2, 3, 5, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 29, 31, 37, 41, 43, 47 and 53 contain music at all. (Yes, this is the prime number series). And music only means music here. Because anyone who hopes to hear Patton's full organ will be disappointed. The former shouter of Faith No More, Mr. Bungle and Fantomas is here exclusively as a composer and arranger to create an opulent soundtrack. His preference for Ennio Morricone cannot and will not be restrained. The music is bombastic, it even exudes the breath of history for moments. Nevertheless, this CD with its spinning track arrangement remains only a recommendation for incorrigible Patton fans who may follow the master of great gestures into the very last corners of his musical Wunderkammer.
