A Whisper In The Noise are back. After a four-year artistic break, mastermind, singer and multi-instrumentalist West Dylan Thordson returns on the fourth album "To Forget" only accompanied by violinist and singer Sonja Larson, who belonged to the band until 2006. The duo has recorded nine quiet, almost ambient pieces, which have absolutely no corners and edges - and which you don't miss at all in the end. Thordsons and Larsons voices are always backed with so much reverb that they are used more like an additional instrument. This goes so far that they, like floating keyboard sounds, roll out a carpet of sound under guitars and drums. The always melancholic songs drag on slowly, almost tenaciously and seem almost spartan with a few notes. Piano swabs and violins make the harmonies perfect. This is all like a softly drawn dream, occasionally has pop appeal, but always remains discreet. The band name says it: It's the quiet tones that create the depth here. There remains the shortcoming that all this is a little too uniform.
