With antiquated instruments, ancient amplifiers and actually outdated recording technology (the Soundcraft 6000 24-track mixer bought by the band was already used by Herbie Hancock) Pontiak have pimped themselves mightily. Nine songs made it on "Echo Ono". But that's enough to show us the trio at its best. With "Lions Of Least" the trip starts mighty and powerful - a reminiscence of psychedelically hyperglycemic Stonerrock: Plenty of riffs meet bustling organ surfaces and monster magnet power. Compared to the huge opener, "The North Coast" begins with a lot of transcendence, but then in the course of its manageable playing time it increases to a monster, which leads seamlessly into the psychoactive "Left With Lights". In contrast, "The Expanding Sky" is almost detached and folk-oriented. The acoustic guitars continue with the abundant floydy "Silver Shadow" and the glam-rock "Stay Out, What A Sight", only to give full throttle to the epic instrumental "Panoptica".
