The former Dream Theatre drummer Mike Portnoy is currently putting himself in a position with two new projects. Contrary to Flying Colors, which at first only work as a studio project (see also the Rezi in this issue), Portnoy and Symphony-X shouter Russell Allen are already in the fast lane with Adrenaline Mob. "I look back with pride on my time at Dream Theater," says the drummer. "But now is the time for a new chapter. Adrenaline mob are for me maybe what the Foo Fighters were for Dave Grohl after Nirvana: The beginning of a new career." Power guitarist Mike Orlando, who dominates the album with his aggressive riffing, also plays a decisive role in the quality of "Omertà". Here it crashes at all corners and ends, the released energy is the same as a collision with a 60 tonner at full speed. The quartet is complemented by Disturbed bassist John Moyer. And on "Come Undone", the convincing guest appearance of Halestorm singer Lzzy Hale can also be noted. Heavy Shit!
