The males and females of the French band Akin are no longer as fresh as dew. But their music sounds all the more unspent. She is characterized by a sympathetic lightness, which is rarely experienced in Prog and Artrock. The rock instruments are joined by female vocals, flute and string quartet, which ensure a constant influx of pleasing melodies. So that the whole thing doesn't turn out too sweet, the septet with its string guests flies metal guitars, bustling bass lines and prog drums, which produce driving to intricate rhythms, into the dense carpet of sound. With the opener "The 92nd Flight", which is reminiscent of Kansas, the musicians show all their skills without degenerating into poses. Virtuosity in the service of the song. "Cassandra" captivates with an opulent string arrangement. In "Resilience" strings, flute and hard guitar riffs meet in an original way. Furthermore the song inspires with an unusual chorus. Altogether the third album of the Lyons offers fifteen tracks, which couldn't be more different and yet all sound like Akin.
