ELECTRIC MOON - The Doomsday Machine

Kategorie: CD-Reviews | Genre: Psychedelic/Space Rock | Heft: Jahrgang 2012, eclipsed Nr. 139 / 4-2012 | VÖ-Jahr: 2012 | Wertung: 8/10 | Label: Nasoni | Autor: BSV

Electric Moon have become omnipresent in the German psych scene in recent years thanks to countless new releases, have firmly established themselves in this scene and are now indispensable. The frequency of their releases almost reaches Acid Mother Temple's proportions and with "The Doomsday Machine" there is also a musical rapprochement to the Japanese music collective. Electric Moon seem to rely even more on wild, howling, scratching guitar orgies, which are surrounded by stoic rhythms. Except for the short "Kleiner Knaller" (which with its groove and melody is one of the best on this album) you can only listen to overflowing longtracks - heavy, psychedelic, spacy and above all - and this is the big plus - organically grown. The tracks seem to have a life of their own. With almost 80 minutes playing time, this CD is packed to the brim. (The album is also available as Do-LP.)
