From Toronto comes a duo that is committed to combining cotton-wool soft Dreampop with songwriting qualities in the tradition of Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks. The result is ten tracks, which, as the album title suggests, evoke softly drawn memories like watching old slides. "Little Expressionless Animals" could have been created in the wedding of the cultivated but artistic lounge pop à la Morcheeba, Lamb or Goldfrapp. The doubled voice of singer Denise Nouvion enters into a relaxed relationship with Wendy Gray's violin. The flaky "The Kids Were Wrong", driven by lively electric guitars, has more indie pop qualities, but the love for Fleetwood Mac still shines through. After a sleep song, "Punctum" dares to put all their faith in half-acoustic guitars and springy drums. Even "Bonfire" takes this direction and ends up in the butter-soft Countrypop. "Kinds Of Light" creates very sensitive Dreampop lately. Everything wonderfully atmospheric, but a little too well-behaved.
