There are these artists whose best-known compositions are actually their most beautiful. Michael Jackson is one of them, just like Paul McCartney or the Bee Gees. Gilbert O'Sullivan also falls into this category. Those who access a best-of compilation of the Irish bard can therefore do nothing wrong. Therefore there are more of them than regular studio albums. After all, the label MAM already brought 1976 with "Greatest Hits" a first compilation with Evergreens of the today 65-year-old on the market. And of course on "A Singer And His Songs - The Very Best Of Gilbert O'Sullivan" the numbers of the seventies are the ones who wear the record. After all, the jewels like "Clair", "Alone Again (Naturally)", "We Will", "Ooh-Wakka- Doo-Wakka-Day", "Nothing Rhymed", "Get Down", "Matrimony" or "What's In A Kiss" (1980) still shimmer like on the first day: Pop music in perfection. The rest is, if you will pardon my saying so, melodious filling material. But with "Dear Dream" you still find a gem that not everyone knows.
