A new album and an extended UK tour with a detour to Ireland - Big Country are back again, albeit with a new line-up, but they know how to maintain the old sound. Besides original member Bruce Watson, Mike Peters from The Alarm and Derek Forbes (Simple Minds) are among those involved, who are not trying to bend the band to their own taste, but to preserve the sound. The traditional music from Wales and Scotland always belonged to the elements of the band, even if they were not presented in a blatant manner. Classical big country sound with a percussive drum sound in the foreground ("In A Broken Promised Land", "After The Flood"), melodic rock with melancholic overtones ("Angels & Promises") and hymnic stadium rock between U2 and New Model Army ("Another Country") amaze because of their pressure and the pleasant aggressiveness, which is rare among musicians who have been at the start for so long. Independent, melodic and lively - the fans will be happy.
