When Linda van Leeuwen, the female part of this Dutch duo, starts at the opener "Sancho Panza", you involuntarily think of Yoko Ono. However, the Dutch woman's voice is usually a little smokier. She and her musical partner Mathias Janmaat are unabashedly creating cheeky, blunt sounds with voices (single and duet) as well as with the help of colourful instruments (synths, organ, bass, piano, guitar and more), which enrich the indie rock with some jewels. "Shackles And Chains", for example, is one such with its Gorillaz/Blur groove. Their debut CD is well produced and some guest musicians spice up the mostly simple, but nevertheless very original song ideas additionally, even bring some arcade-fire-drama into the songs by using brass. But the unadulterated charm of the unadulterated music of the Bomby Show Pig is more likely to be experienced on youtube, for example when the two protagonists play several instruments simultaneously on the Dutch 3voor12 radio.
