Split EPs are the perfect way to get to know new bands. In the case of Colaris and Ampersphere from Rhineland-Palatinate one wishes for a double album of the collaborators. Ampersphere impress with highly melodic guitar riffing and frontman Sascha Dopf, who shows how important it can be for alternative rockers to have a really good singer on board. The band, active since 2006, debuted in 2010 with their album "Blue Amperience" and hopefully dares to leave their hometown Zweibrücken with their highly emotional heavy rock. The Intersphere from Mannheim showed us how. Amperspheres are at least as good. Colaris complete the release with three instrumental pieces in long distance calling quality: detailed post rock with atmospheric note and level. What's special about this release, apart from two own songs per band, is a reinterpretation of each other's songs. The production comes over with a lot of pressure and provides pleasantly entertaining Heavyness. The CD is limited to 1000 copies. So, quick access!

Top track: No End In Sight (Ampersphere), Drowning In Bitterness (Solaris)
