Aphodyl have escaped many fans of psychedelic music so far - a criminal omission, one bases the euphoric audience appeal, which the three-man-a-woman-band is able to evoke at festivals. Also the eclipsed has rediscovered the disc already produced in 2012 due to their fantastic live performance at the "Psychedelic- Spacerockfestival II" in Salzkotten. Recorded live in the studio, "Magnet" is actually able to magnetize. The almost 20-minute title track crashes down on you like a UFO. Spacerockig booming and on wonderfully atmospheric key magic floating. A strange speaking voice adds Doom character, but then an extremely floy guitar takes over the lead until synth choirs and drum rolls stir up the earth like in a volcanic eruption. "Fly" is an instrumental Floyd epic: perfectly set guitar tones that make every Gilmour fan happy. The rockier "Time" places German spoken lyrics somewhat more clearly in the center. Here memories of the Krautrock by Jane or even the East German group City come to life (the review of their current DVD follows in the next issue).
