Capable harmonica players are becoming more and more difficult to find. Contrary to the general view, the instrument requires some practice. Like Paul Butterfield, Bob Corritore was inspired by the Chicago Blues of the fifties and has now recorded an instrumental album with the help of Jimmie Vaughan, Fred Kaplan and Brian Fahey, among others, that puts the harp in the foreground. Groovy shuffle ("Harmonica Watusi"), melancholic blues with rock'n'roll influences ("Taboo"), a track that fully lives up to its title ("Harp Blast") and slow blues ("5th Position Plea") stand for the highest musical and technical quality and pure feeling. Top!
