"I learned to stand up tall, before I learn to crawl," it says in the opener "Stand Up Tall." Probably DeWolff had already inhaled Classic Rock before they could crawl. After all, the three Dutchmen were only at the age of 14, 17 and 18 when they released their debut album in 2009. Even then, the young boys had it thick as a fist behind their ears. This is now confirmed again on "Grand Southern Electric", the fifth DeWolff album. Just listen to the dirty, cheeky rock'n'roll of the first two tracks, especially the crazy organ solo in "Evil Mothergrabber". But also a certain maturing process is noticeable: "Ride With You" is an acoustic Americana Mexicana track with creaking deep guitars. The title of the album is program, DeWolff travelled through Georgia, USA to record "Grand Southern Electric" under the wing of Grammy winner Mark Neill. So the eleven songs are pure Southern Classic Rock, with everything that goes with it. Big compliment.
