HUIS - Despite Guardian Angels

The five Huis comrades-in-arms are label colleagues of the Neoprogger Mystery. Their mastermind, Michel St-Père, plays guitar here. But this is not the only reason why the quintet from Quebec, Canada, is reminiscent of Mystery. The entire layout of her symphonic prog is similar. But the keyboards at Huis are more omnipresent: Hammond, Moog and Mellotron provide a lot of variety and exciting as well as wonderfully dreamy moments on their debut album, without creating anything completely new. But it doesn't have to be. Unusual bars, blatant tempo and bar changes are there in abundance, but they only advance the story, so they are not perceptible as a frizzle and are completely integrated into the symphonic garb of this music. What is special is that "Despite Guardian Angels" contains three epic instrumentals carried by melodious electric guitars and keyboard instruments. The eleven tracks don't stick immediately, but they reveal interesting details with every listening session, so that a longer enjoyment of this record is quite possible.
