Romantic Ethnomucke thus also offers a niche for emotional dusel hits. Isgaard, the band around the singer of the same name, is much too unagitated and willing to compromise in order to raise the blood pressure of the listener at least once discreetly. "Discreet" for "Playing God" would also be a benevolent paraphrase for boring. A few progressive escapades here, some Blackmore's Night folk there, all sugared with Heavenly Voices - and drawn into the depths of oblivion by hopelessly overloaded arrangements.
