After a break of eleven years the Norwegian retroprog band Kerrs Pink presents a new album. But only guitarist Harald Lytomt is left of the original line-up. He wanted to know again and was able to win no less than Magic Pie singer Eirikur Hauksson as the new frontman. The quintet is influenced equally by Scandinavian folk and British seventies prog and creates an appealing melodic music out of both. Diversity reigns here. If the opulent opener "Final Curtain" reminds one of Camel, then one thinks to see Jethro Tulls Ian Anderson lugen around the corner in the following "Mysterious Woods". Otherwise guitar ballads ("Until I Know") stand next to riff rock ("Choose Your Path") and pastoral baroque ("Earth To Earth"). The boys have audibly fun making music and both the accordion playing of keyboarder Glenn Fosser and the Taurus pedal interludes of bassist Per Langsholt set some tonal accents. Nevertheless, much of what is offered here has already been heard elsewhere. You could expect a little more here after eleven years of a creative break.
