Under the name I Caught The Plague, six young men from the Canadian city of Ottawa recorded a CD and an EP between 2008 and 2011 and then toured as support acts for Protest The Hero and the Devin Townsend Project. The way into the musical upper league would have been practically already paved, had it not been for the less sonorous band name. Therefore, in 2013, the name was changed to The Kindred to make it clear that these musicians are soul mates on a common mission. "Life In Lucidity" has certainly become a record with many surprising twists, starting with the Mexican brass parts in "Wolvish" via the tribal choirs in the no less convincing "Heritage" to "Everbound", which radiates medieval flair amidst its modern rock backdrop. And this is only the beginning! Whether "Life In Lucidity" is the "Prog-Rock-Album 2014" (Label-Info), is left to the discretion. In any case, a style of one's own is not yet recognizable. But you notice that The Kindred are trying to create an individual sound.
