Recently the Swede Christian Kjellvander released his new album "The Pitcher", and if you listen to the third work of his compatriot Lars Bygdén, you have to look twice if you haven't picked up the wrong CD on the shelf, the two Scandinavians sound so similar in gesture, vocals and the arrangements of their songs. It speaks for Bygdén, however, that he doesn't even try to disguise these similarities, but rather appears as Kjellvander's brother in spirit by having him sing along in a typical melancholic way to the opener "The Hole". It is also no coincidence that the optical design of the CD is kept in black tones throughout. Bygdén's music is sad, intimate, thought-provoking and thus moves in a great tradition of dark singer-songwriters with a not too small country impact. And in the end he even elegantly covers the Syd Barrett song "Dark Globe". A successful work and high time to help Lars Bygdén also in Germany to a little fame.
