Fursy Teyssier is certainly no stranger to scene connoisseurs, as he has already been heavily involved in similar projects such as Alcest and Amesoeurs. When two years ago with "Septembre Et Ses Dernières Pensée" his debut appeared as Les Discrets, it was only the consequent step to realize his own musical ideas. With "Ariettes Oubliées..." he now succeeds even more convincingly. He has succeeded in producing an album here which, similar to those of his brother band Alcest (drummer Winterhalter is busy both here and there), has far more rock than metal influences. But maybe it's completely superfluous to talk about metal here at all. Either way, in the end "Ariettes Oubliées..." is another highlight of atmospheric rock this year, which also seems to be one piece. The intro "Linceul d'hiver" merges seamlessly into the epic "La Traversée", with which Teyssier with Les Discrets already offers the first climax in a work that is truly not miserly with its highlights.
