News from the alternative rockers from Pennsylvania, who would have thought it - and without Ed Kowalczyk. The new singer is called Chris Shinn (Unified Theory) and does his job well. He also masters the passionate vibrato, and that's what he also needs for the songs, which are mostly full of pathos. They are not bad, solidly made, but far from coming close to old heroics like "Lightning Crashes", "I Alone", "Dolphin's Cry" and similar 90s anthems. But they try, and that is why there can be no question of a "new beginning", as the press text would like to evoke. The band likes to tie in with their history, and one of the recipes for success was the spraying of pure energy and a certain dramatic build-up. It can be found here ("Don't Run To Wait", "Strength To Hold On"), but the spark doesn't really ignite. Because the tracks are very much based on the old songs in terms of staging, you compare them - and find that you have experienced the band more passionately and inspired.
