Mystery have already undergone quite a few personnel changes. The only remaining original member is guitarist Michel St-Père. With "Tales From The Netherlands" the Canadians provide us with a double live album that brings out all the qualities of the band. With Benoît David on the microphone, who also had a short guest appearance with the prog legend Yes on their album "Fly From Here" and is no longer with Mystery, they show us that they belong to the crème de la crème as a live act. With this release one becomes aware of what an extraordinary voice they (and Yes) have lost. The central piece on this almost two-and-a-half-hour musical journey is the 22-minute opus "Through Different Eyes". Here a manifesto of a collective of musicians is celebrated, which knows everything and leaves nothing out. Sovereign Mystery here put together what should have been connected so always. Here haunting echoes from the depths of music history meet hallucinogenic chord loops, hilly guitar and rushing organ passages. The sound universe rotates here around an axis of good taste.
