What Wikipedia knows. According to Indian Samkhya philosophy, Prakriti is the primordial matter of which the universe is made, and Axis Mundi is the ideal extension of the Earth's axis of rotation, which cuts the celestial sphere into two parts. This gives you an idea of what Paths Of Prakriti has to offer with "Axis Mundi". The Norwegian quartet, which came together in 2006, is basically the sole playground of Jon Reier Sylte, who is responsible for composition, production, recording, singing and almost all instruments. Of course Paths Of Prakriti fulfil the cliché of the eternal yesterday's, who wallow in the innocent psychpop of the late sixties, looking towards India. But even if in "Kali Has Woven", "Devils Eye & Demons Sigh" and "Oh Surrender" sitar sounds are hinted at, this is by no means like with Kula Shaker. It stays with conventionally arranged songs with acoustic and electric guitars, organs and melodic vocals - and lots of soothing, dreamy nostalgia.
