Multi-instrumentalist at Arcade Fire, Richard Reed Parry also enjoys exploring the possibilities of classical music. Especially with the so-called E-music, the musician seems to open up completely new possibilities. "Music For Heart And Breath" connects them with the noises of the human being: with the heartbeat and the breath. The heart and breathing frequencies of the participating musicians, who were equipped with stethoscopes for this purpose, determined the tempo of the pieces, which then also changed according to the respective moods. "Music For Heart And Breath" was recorded by a duet, a quartet, sextet, nonet and a 14-piece orchestra. It's not even so surprising that there are related musicians like The Nationals Bryce and Aaron Dessner and yMusic among them, as they have been moving on similar terrain for some time now. In the end, the similarly relaxed Kronos Quartet of the "Quartet For Heart And Breath" takes care of themselves, which seems to close the circle of this music.
