In 2003 Runrig celebrated their 30th birthday in front of the fantastic scenery of Stirling Castle. The CD/DVD "Day Of Days" was a wonderful document. Now the Scottish institution from the Hebridean island of Skye is going to put another one on it and celebrate its fortieth album with a triple album. Not just that. Besides a host of popular supporting acts, original singer Donnie Munro (the first time since 1997!) and former keyboarder Pete Wisehart, who had gone into politics, were again present at the Muir of Ord, near Inverness on August 10, 2013. The repertoire covers the entire repertoire of the band. U2 similar sound textures as in "Roadtrip" testify to the still rocky presence of the band. Sometimes, as with "Skye", improvisation or exuberant celebration takes a long time, so that some of the tracks exceed the six-minute limit. Parad tracks sung in Gaelic such as "Siol Ghorraidh" or "An Ubhal As Airde" are also performed with great passion. And of course you will find all of Runrig's hymnal hit songs like "Only The Brave", "Hearts Of Golden Glory" (acoustic with audience choir), "Protect And Survive" and the indestructible "Loch Lomond" in frenetically acclaimed versions. The whole thing is more a celebration document than a live album striving for perfection. But this party is really fun.
