"I Thought It Was Us But It Was All Of Us" is fragile music, forms that do not exist in reality. "I Thought It Was Us But It Was All Of Us" is the solo debut of Rebecca Foon, cellist with Montreal-based collectives such as Thee Silver Mt. Zion, Set Fire To Flames and Esmerine. And here is also the approach for an album like this one to search and find. Noises and eruptive outbreaks of violence were completely faded out on these eight jewels. These consist and live exclusively from Foon's fragile and innocent vocals, her effect loaded cello sounds and the discreet percussions of her Esmerine colleague Jamie Thompson. A track like "Treehouse Schemes", for example, is a gentle pulsation that draws its power from a stoic rhythm and foons of unconventional play. "Unholy" comes with harsh dissonances that emerge after the combination of all components (one of which is Arcade Fire Richard Reed Parry's self-forgotten guitar playing) as a play of light and shadow of lost sound webs. Traumwandlerisch!
