This bo and blues man is already a legend. As a mixture between modern Clochard and street musician, he has repeatedly made California insecure in an anarchistic sense, slept under bridges or sometimes in jail. He released his first album at the age of 63 and his breakthrough came in 2007, triggered by a show at Jools Holland. There is also a "Best Of" in order to bring this man closer to new music listeners. The first two tracks sound like this ancient Poor Man's Walkin' Blues was recorded right on the street with only one mic. Pure authenticity. But then it gets more modern: "I Started Out With Nothing" grooves powerfully and accompanied by female vocals it becomes the perfect street gospel. Diddley Bo" pays tribute to another primeval American Blues' rock'n'roll tribute. Surprisingly versatile comes this eloquent "Blues from the gutter", somewhere between old Johnny Lee Hooker and bulky Tom Waits. Walkin' Blues in the first place, but also a lot of Gospel, Country, ZZ-Top-Rock and acoustic Ballads. Buy recommendation!
