Slomind hit exactly where the air stays away. Accordingly the debut album is called "Solar Plexus" and in fact one's breath falters in view of the overdose of Doom/ Heavy/Fuzz/Metal offered here. Already the first two tracks, "Scary Operator" and "No Surprise!", tell you what's going on: fast grooves, heavy guitar riffs, growls. It's not everyone's cup of tea. But anyone whose taste that is can only lift their thumbs, because the people of Düsseldorf complete their mission sovereignly. Everything interlocks, it's like one piece. Fire up riffs and grooves. But that's not all, because Slomind sometimes leave the straight line direction and prove a feeling for details: here a very catchy melody in the chorus or a sudden disappearance of the guitar, there an alienated fingerpicking and another time constant rhythm changes. "Thru The Eyes Of God" is complex material and the acoustic "Perfect High" is a fine surprise. The highlight is the almost nine-minute title track: a tour de force between tough and tender, fast and hard.
