With Franz Kafka The Castle (7 stars) the setting of literary originals continues at TD. After Edgar Allan Poe, Gustav Meyrink and James Joyce, it is now the turn of the German-speaking surrealist from Prague. In the foreword "Dreaming The Castle" Edgar Froese explains his understanding of the groundbreaking novel fragment "The Castle". At first he approaches the material very spherically and romantically. Then electronic voice alienations race through the sound jungle. Dramatic soundscapes and classic TD motifs are also allowed. Whether the album is really capable of capturing the spirit of the original, everyone must decide for themselves. Also on Chandra The Phantom Ferry Part II (7.5 stars) an opulent story ("Valis") is continued: the mysterious encounter with an unknown life form in Greenland, which provides a certain Carlos Enduras with information about the fate of mankind (please read the booklet). "3 Rotcaf Neila" begins the album with beautiful hypnotic spherical sounds and then develops a lot of spirit and sci-fi music qualities including electric guitar, driving percussion and lively sequencers. A mental journey through the cosmos.
