Robin Taylor is one of the most active protagonists of the Danish music scene and regularly releases albums that appeal to both prog and jazz rock fans. If "Worn Out" (2013) had a northern European scent with a proximity to Jan Garbarek, the new CD "Evidence" seems much more rocky. Although Taylor is the undisputed boss as composer and multi-instrumentalist (g, key, b, fl, perc), he fortunately does not play himself into the foreground, but leaves the field to his extremely competent fellow musicians, especially saxophonist Karsten Vogel, guitarist Claus Bøhling and keyboarder Thomas Thor Viderø Ulstrup, who take over the solos. In "Red Afternoon" Ulstrup lets his guitar howl and jubilate that it is a true joy. "Marie Marolle" lives from the shifting of several motifs, which are replaced in the middle of the piece by a kind of ethno rock, in order to head unerringly for the climax after the recapitulation. "Buildings" even breathes the meditative spirit of Miles Davis' "In A Silent Way" before Taylor turns into psychedelic country.
